Elle Belle started when I and a few of my friends
started making things for our own children and
realized that even though we each only had one
or two things we specialize in, collaborating is
more fun and makes for a shop full of things we
all absolutely couldn't live without.
Minky, and satin are my favorite materials, and I
really love finding great designer cotton fabrics. I
make the slings, tag blankets, personalized
items, and whatever else inspires me at the
moment. My husband and daughter are my
support and inspiration in life and business.

for chic Mommies and pampered Babies
I first saw pillowcase dresses in a small boutique
in North Carolina. I absolutely loved the
romantic style, and wanted to recreate it for my
daughter, Amelia. It wasn’t long before I was
convinced that every little girl had to have one!
I feel the last year has been a journey of
discovery…discovering how to sew! (laugh);
discovering the deep sense of pride and
accomplishment I would feel each time I
completed a dress; discovering things I never
knew about myself. I never knew I had such a
creative, artistic side – the part of me that gets
inspired by perfect fabric combinations, and
playing “fashion designer.”
What’s my goal for next year? To be walking in
the park, or shopping at the mall and see
another child wearing one of MY original
dresses!

quilts. After that I made memory quilts for my
sister and then some for friends, now I am happy
to make a memory quilt for anyone who wants to
wrap themselves in the memory of a time that
goes by way to fast.

As a "second generation" mom, I have had the
true delight of experiencing both motherhood &
grandmother hood. When I was a young mom
enjoying a hobby in crocheting was almost
impossible, with little ones running around &
schedules always seeming unyieldingly tight.
As my children got older my independence and
career have still kept me on a tight schedule
and almost as busy. Fortunately though, my
perspective has changed a bit & I realize that
taking time to do the things you just enjoy doing
is worth the sacrifice. After watching my
daughter, Stacey, and seeing her creative
passion, I am excited to have the opportunity to
contribute to Elle Belle some of the fun things
that I enjoy doing. I'm hoping that I can pass on
the craft that my grandmother taught me,
through vintage looks & new twists on favorite
crocheted items.
It's easy to be inspired when you have such
great children & new ones on the way - I feel
like I am having the time of my life enjoying the
best of both worlds of motherhood.
